Good thing
So, for those of you who dont know, I just started my junior year of college and so far its going fairly smoothly. My classes are Art History, Creative Writing, Figure drawing, and Speech and as it stands none of them look like theyre going to be too terribly difficult.
The only bump in the road is that I still do not have a major and this is the last semester that I can fill up my schedule with university core because Ive done it all (with the exception of math). Oh sure I could go ahead and declare art education just for the heck of it, but I dont want to get stuck in a teaching job and never leave (which I think I might be prone to doing).I really want to try to do an illustration degree but I cannot get one where I am now and most places where I can get the degree, the tuition triples. If not illustration then perhaps a zoology degree, but Im faced with the same dilemma of not knowing where to go. So. If anyone has any suggestions, Im wiiiiide open.
Lets see, what else happened between now and February? I worked at the daycare again over the summer. It was nuts and full of dramafrom the adults and the kids, amusingly enough. Im currently working at a child care place inside of a gym (augh, get me out of child care someone, please!!! e_e). Its really not that bad. The shifts are about three/four hours long and I usually only work one shift a dayso obviously Im not making much. It is however very useful for studying because some days only one or two kids will show up, or Ill be sitting there by myself for an hour or more. So pretty much the only time I get any reading for school done is at my job, ironically.
Other than that, um .not much goin on. I havent had loads of time to draw for fun lately and Im really missing it. Still behind on my deviation watch thing as always (around 3,300 atm) , uhhhh just ate a sandwich? I dunno. My life is insanely dull guys, this is why I never update journalsnothing to say! x)
And now....onto the tag!
Rules:
1-post these rules
2-each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves
3-tags should write a journal/ blog of these facts
4-at the end of the post 4 more persons are tagged and named
5-go to their page and leave a comment telling them theyve been tagged
My random facts(terribly uninteresting, unfortunately):
1) I habitually print out DA pictures with the intent to decorate my wall with them and they have been accumulating in a drawer for years.
2) I have a not so secret obsession with piccolo centaurs. x)
3) I have four jars of peanut butter in my pantry and no idea what to do with them
4) I remember SWAT KATS! T-bone and Razor forever!
5) Apparently I terrified and/or injured all of my oldest friends when we first met.
6) I am determined to retire to a horse ranch in Wyoming (or someplace that actually gets snow)
7) I recently made four batches of cookies and ate them all within three days. @_@ *oink*
8) I have a cloud fetish.
In the hopes that it might make a them upload more I victimize--I mean tag:
P.S. If you read this entire journal you deserve a cookie and a parade in your honor.

Nice to hear from you!!! Your classes sound great, and I wish the illustration or zoology thing would work for you-- they both sound really promising. But I'm sure there's something else you can major in. If you like art history and writing... hm, like art journalism or criticism? Curatorial studies? I dunno. *racks brain*
You should use the peanut butter to make more cookies! Sandwich cookies with the peanut butter in the middle!

xD I made a batch of peanut butter cookies. They were okay, but I think I'll need to tweak the recipe before I try them again. >>

Try putting chocolate chips in your peanut butter, and spreading it on stuff like plain cookies or bread

Good luck deciding on a major! I'd feel funny suggesting one. I mean, think of this: I suggest one, you run with it, then 30 years from now you shake your fist in the air saying "curse you, Bru!" because you end up hating it. Seriously.
Anyway, I'd maybe suggest investing in some personality quiz that matches you up with your most likely vocation. I can't think of the name of one, ATM. But I'd google it. They cost, but I'm not sure how much...
anyway, rock on. Nice to hear from ya.

I've never heard of Robert Bateman before, but that sounds like an awesome job! I just looked at his website and HOLY COW. 0_0

Actually I have taken those quizes before; like, the "official" ones designed by psychologists and all that. I took a class freshman year that was basically geared toward people like me who don't know what they're doing in college and we took loads of 'em and I kept getting the same sorts of things: be a teacher, a councilor, or a social worker. Every quiz like that I had ever taken before (or since) has always told me that so I wasn't really surprised or anything...I dunno, I mean, I could be a teacher and probably be fairly content doing it. But then there's that part of me that will always wonder what could've been. You only get to do this whole life thing once after all and it'd be nice if I could figure out the right choice. @_@
